Mazères Museum
A RICH HISTORY
A museum in Mazères that traces history from the Neolithic to ancient southern Gaul!
Located in the beautiful Ardouin mansion, 2 minutes from the Bastide campsite, built in 1580, the museum features a rich collection dating from the Neolithic to the Visigothic and Frankish eras. You can discover objects from the Merovingian necropolis at Bénazet, ancient capitals with their decoration, and an evocation of woad, the blue pigment so emblematic of the region.

ARCHITECTURAL AND RENAISSANCE GARDEN
The Renaissance architecture of the Hôtel d’Ardouin and its garden complete an immersive tour of the local heritage!
The building features brick facades, mullioned windows and an octagonal tower accessible via a spiral staircase. Surrounded by a garden laid out in the spirit of the Renaissance – medicinal plants, vegetable gardens, topiaries – the museum offers moments of calm and discovery. The décor itself tells of the importance of Mazères’ built heritage.
