La Balade
Saint sauveur
A charming path offering exceptional panoramic views of Foix and its hills.
The Saint-Sauveur walk begins in the heart of Foix and climbs to a natural belvedere overlooking the valley. The path passes through a Mediterranean grove of holm oaks and boxwoods, then rises gently between ancient dry-stone walls and verdant terraces. At the top, the panorama opens up: you can make out the roofs of the old town, the château comtal, the abbey church, the Pont Vieux – and, further on, the mountain ridges. It’s the perfect way to combine town, nature and spectacular views.
Accessible
but toned
Approx. 3 km and 210 m climb – simple but well-marked.
The trail measures approx. 3 km round trip, with a positive difference in altitude of ~210 m. It climbs steadily, sometimes steeply – bring good shoes and a bit of effort. The trail is well-marked (yellow loop on the way up) and passes through forest and low walls – a good mix of nature and heritage. Allow around 1h30 for the round trip, taking your time.
Bring water and suitable footwear – the trail climbs between forests, stones and low walls.
