From the trail, you’ll reach L’Étang Bleu after a beautiful hike. Here, stroll along the lake shore, enjoy the peace and quiet and observe the mountain panorama. Depending on the season and the weather, a swim – or at least a refreshing dip – may be in order. It’s a 9.7 km loop, and takes around 4 h 30 to 5 h. Easy access by car, then quiet, accessible path.

From Les Oustalous, take the road towards Tarascon sur Ariège, then head for Surba on the D618 towards Col de Port.

Then head for Rabat-les-Trois-Seigneurs on the D223. Go through the village, then the hamlet of La Freyte, and reach the end of the road. Then follow an easy walk to the lake. A great half-day or full-day excursion, perfect for your guests staying at the gîte.
