The ascent to Mont Fourcat is a beautiful hike – accessible to motivated walkers – that leads to a summit offering spectacular views of the Pyrenean ranges. Here, enjoy the panoramic views, the absolute peace and quiet, and the wild, natural setting for photography, wildlife observation or simply relaxing at the summit. A wonderful reward after the effort of the climb. It’s a 9.3 km round trip with an ascent of 757.85 m, and takes 4 to 5 hours with good shoes. Car + walk – perfect day out.

Head north from Tarascon on the D618 towards Mercus. In the village, turn right onto the D61 to Croquié. At the entrance to the village, at the large chestnut tree, take the track on the left to the Brougues parking lot. Bring good shoes, a light bag, water and snacks. This outing is ideal for a half-day or full day in the mountains.
