Classified as one of the “Most Beautiful Villages in France”.

Camon, nicknamed the “village of a hundred rosebushes”, is a little gem nestled in the Hers valley, on the border with the Aude department. A former fortified village built around a Benedictine abbey, its medieval architecture, calm and profusion of flowers are alluring.

A postcard setting through the seasons

Every spring, climbing roses adorn the stone facades and cobbled alleyways of the historic center. Camon is famous for its Rose Festival in May, but remains a pleasant place to visit all year round. The abbey church, ramparts and arcaded houses bear witness to its rich past.

Charming addresses and local produce

The village is home to several B&Bs, an inn and local craftsmen. It’s an ideal stopover for a romantic getaway, or a break on a sightseeing tour between Mirepoix and the Cathar castles.
