The trail starts from the village of Appy, on a well-marked, gradual path. On the way, you pass through forests and pastures before reaching the lake, often lined with wild flowers in summer. It’s an ideal place to relax, picnic or simply contemplate.

With less than 500 metres of ascent, the hike is suitable for families used to mountain walks. Regular breaks allow you to appreciate the panoramic views over the Ariège valley and, on a clear day, as far as the Toulouse plain.
