Les forges de Pyrène
A JOURNEY THROUGH CRAFT HERITAGE
Immerse yourself in artisanal Ariège: discover the ancient skills, trades and living workshops of yesteryear.
At Forges de Pyrène, 6 km from the Lac de Foix campsite, you enter a reconstructed village dedicated to life at the beginning of the XXᵉ century. More than 100 old-fashioned trades are showcased through demonstrations, authentic objects and interactive animations. Here, the hammer forge transports you back to the metal crafts of the pre-industrial era, while the clogmaker, basket-maker and goldsmith reveal their meticulous gestures.
