Mountaneô is a fun, immersive museographic space designed for all ages, inviting visitors to take a fresh look at the mountains. Located in the Orlu valley, it reveals the mountain’s natural riches and secrets through interactive games, child-friendly play areas and a sensory trail to stimulate the senses.
HYDROGAME

Experience water, hydropower and biodiversity in the mountains.
The Hydrogame, included in the entrance fee, offers an interactive adventure: understand the water cycle, hydropower and the environmental challenges of this region. Then take the immersive Orlu Reserve trail to observe fauna, flora, natural environments and mountain landscapes. You’ll also be surprised by the forest of sounds, with its poetic mechanisms that challenge your senses.
HYDROELECTRIC PLANT
TECHNOLOGY AND INDUSTRIAL HERITAGE
In addition to nature, discover the mountain’s industrial history with energy and heritage!
Visit the Orlu hydroelectric power station, the only one open to the public in Ariège, guided from Mountaneô. It harnesses the waters of Lac de Naguilhes, with a waterfall of almost 1,000 meters, to generate electricity. It’s also a journey back in time: the valley has been marked by hydraulic exploitation since the Middle Ages, and the modern power plant is part of this long industrial heritage.
