An exceptional panorama at over 2,300 metres altitude

Dominating the Pays d’Olmes region, the Pic de Saint-Barthélemy (2,348 m) is one of the highest peaks in the Tabe massif. Accessible to experienced hikers, it offers breathtaking views of the Pyrenees, the Ariège plain and, on a clear day, as far as the foothills of the Massif Central.

An itinerary for experienced walkers from the Col de Montségur or Montferrier

The climb generally takes 4-5 hours round trip, with a good vertical drop (approx. 1,000 m). Along the way, the scenery alternates between forest, mountain pastures and rocky ridges. Arrival at the summit reveals a 360° view, shared with the nearby Pic de Soularac.

A summit that rewards effort with the raw beauty of the Pyrenees

From the ridge, the view extends over the Ax-les-Thermes valleys, the Donezan heights and the Andorran massifs. The site is calm, far from the crowds, and ideal for a real break at altitude.
