Just a 15-minute drive from Foix, Prat d’Albis is a vast grassy plateau perched at an altitude of 1,200 metres. Easily accessible, it offers breathtaking views over the Ariège valley, the Pyrenean peaks and the Toulouse plain. A popular spot for hiking, picnicking and observation.

Several hiking routes start from the plateau, with levels to suit everyone. You can reach the Barguillère ridge, skirt the estives or climb to the Soularac peak for the more athletic. The site is also a well-known spot for paragliding, with frequent take-offs in fine weather.

Ideal for a half-day outing from Foix
The asphalt road provides easy access to the plateau by car, making it a convenient destination for a family outing. In summer, the estives are home to horses, cows and sheep. In winter, the site lends itself to snowshoeing or simply contemplation in the snow.
