Talcaneô, located in Luzenac, 7 km from our Les Oustalous facility, invites you into a 400 m² museum space entirely dedicated to talc: from its extraction to its transformation. Thanks to immersive visual displays, interactive games and a 180° screen, you can follow the talc as if you were there, on a fun journey for young and old alike. It’s an opportunity to learn more about the men and women who have shaped this industry, a living heritage of the region.

VISIT TO THE TRIMOUNS QUARRY
Discover the world’s largest open-air talc quarry, with its spectacular panorama and geology.
The Trimouns quarry, located at an altitude of around 1,700-1,800 meters, is the largest open-cast talc quarry in the world and the only active quarry in France. Accompanied by a guide, you’ll visit the site by coach, with several stops to observe the key points: the geological formations, the extraction facilities, and the breathtaking view of nearby Pyrenean peaks such as Beille, the Bonascre plateau or the Pic du Montcalm.

Talcaneô offers two places to visit: the museum in Luzenac, accessible without reservation, and the quarry in Trimouns, which must be visited with a guide, by coach. The museum offers an informative and sensory experience, combining natural heritage, industry, geology and cultural discoveries.
